I Dragged Some Friends to The Coffee Way

I promised myself that I would try to add an entry everyday when I made this blog (back when it's still in wordpress). And then the next day, I didn’t.

Anyway, yesterday I started the day by not coming to my first class of the day. I was cramming a paper I was supposed to pass that day for another class. I am such a lazy ass.

I had the nerve to take photos of stuffs while cramming for some paper. Well, it was half-assed anyway.

Anyway, the day somehow went fine. We tested the readablity of an article. I forgot the title of the article but it was a cut out from a local newspaper. It’s about animal therapy for autism. I predicted that it would be 9th grade level.
It turned out around 14th grade level. What the fuck right? We used the Fry Readability Formula. The counting seriously sucks, specially when your seatmate counts loudly. You just want to throw the article and stick your pencil on your classmate’s eye.

After that, I went to our lab school at the back of our college to observe a class. The teacher was a batchmate who graduated on time not to mention with Magna cum Laude honor. Life really sucks for the unmotivated ones.

After that was just another regular class. I passed the paper, we discussed some types of assessments which we already discussed in another class some other sem. We also discussed some class management strategies.

My last class was just a meeting to somehow try to update with each other on field observations. Our group was assigned to facilitate the session so on the spot, we did some seriously retarded game show. I was made to hold one of the answers and everyone was supposed to dance. Fuck you. The most you can make me do is move my arms. After that was another random tableau making. For the last part, we discussed the art workshop we’re supposed to do for a school/center. I was assigned in the marketing group. I hate marketing.

It was past 5:30 pm when we finished. I remember that my two friends should already be out by that time so I contacted them. I walked up to the faculty center when they accepted my call. I had to double back to Palma Hall Annex. There they were, signing up as participants for some psych experiments. Every Psych 101 had to be guinea pigs of psych students.

I took some pics of them while they were diligently signing up. Then, I helped them.

I noticed that the psychology faculty center was finished. never really paid attention to it. But now that I did, it’s actually nice.

When we meet up or bond, it usually means food so my friend suggested to have some fishballs and other street food. I dragged them instead to The Coffee Way Maginhawa St. It always rains whenever i go there.

The Coffee Way is a very nice place near our campus. It is just a jeepney and some walk away from our campus. It is an apartment converted into a cafe. The ambiance is cozy and inviting whether you’re alone or with some friends. There are cards and board games for groups. There are also a mini library for those who come alone. The chairs and tables are assorted and there are also some couches. I have only visited the place twice and I just found out that its second floor is open to public and is some sort of gallery. Next time I go there, I’ll visit. I promise.

Another good feature of it is that its food are affordable and delicious. Most of their rice meals are only 75 php while their pasta are 85. The first time I went there, I ordered shepherd’s pie for 85 php. My friends ordered rice meals. One also ordered nachos for 65 php. It was really worth every peso spent for it. The waiting time might be a bit long but you can really do a lot of things while waiting.

Shepherd’s pie for 85 php.

Anyway, we went there and ordered our food. We all had rice meal. I ordered beef and mushroom and choco-banana crepe for 45 php.

Beef and mushroom rice meal (75php)

Choco Banana Crepe with Vanilla Ice Cream on top (45php)

All of our orders. I forgot the names of their dishes.

We then talked and laughed about a lot of things. I also taught them how to play scrabble though I suck at it. We stayed there until past 8 pm. I didn’t really want to leave.
